7/23/2023 0 Comments Weetwood hall hotelI have since read other not so happy customers complaining about The Stables. The next evening we had a first class meal in Convive, food was excellent, service superb. We explained we only wanted a snack so they gave us bread and olives with no charge. We went back to Convive and regaled our tale to the lovely bar lady, who in complete contrast, sent the restaurant manager over who offered to provide us with food. Very disappointing, it is not the customer's fault that the kitchen is behind and you state that you serve food until 9pm. We were told by the lady at the bar no more food orders were being taken as they were behind with orders in the kitchen. At the bar we ordered some drinks and asked for Nacho's which was on the menu. ![]() ![]() We arrived at 8.40pm as we were told they stopped serving food at 9.00pm, indeed it says this on their menu as well. In the evening as we weren't very hungry we thought we would go to The Stables pub. We had afternoon tea in Convive when we arrived which was amazing. However, staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful. Hotel was fantastic, room was a little on the small side and a bit tired looking with the decor. Kindest Regards, Charlotte - Customer Service Executive Weetwood Hall Hotel We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Thank you once again for taking the time to share your feedback. Although fundraising typically refers to efforts to gather money for non-profit organizations, it is sometimes used to refer to the identification and solicitation of investors or other sources of capital for for-profit enterprises. 7/23/2023 0 Comments Twitch gifting subs![]() “While also being one of the most profitable Twitch features ever implemented.” “Twitch gets the same cut of those and it’s lost on me why they’re treated as less significant when it’s a PRIMARY SOURCE of support for creators,” Jambo tweeted on Friday morning. She has hit 10,000 subs, she said, but the majority were gifted and she still hasn’t consistently held 350 monthly subs. She declined to comment on her involvement in the program, but criticized the platform for disincentivizing gift subs in a series of tweets. Jambo, a Twitch Ambassador who has been advocating for a 70/30 revenue split for all creators, said Ambassadors were included in the discussions leading up to the Partner Plus announcement. The fact that gift subs and Prime subs aren’t counted toward the subscription minimum excludes huge swaths of creators who would otherwise qualify for the program. Just 2.5% of Partners qualify for the Partner Plus program. Of the 42,366 active Partners, only about 1,000 had 350 or more monthly subs in the last three months, according to the analytics site Stream Charts. The company looks for creators who “can act as role models to the community,” in addition to meeting the criteria. Once they meet those requirements, streamers are invited to apply to the Partner program, and have to be manually approved by Twitch’s Partnership team. To qualify as a Partner, which unlocks custom channel emotes and other support features, creators have to stream for 25 hours on 12 different days and average 75 viewers over a 30-day period. To join the lower-tier Affiliate program, streamers must reach 50 followers, stream for eight total hours on seven different days, and have an average of three viewers within a 30-day period. Twitch Affiliates can monetize their channels through paid subscriptions, bits (the platform’s virtual currency) and ad revenue. “For them to add a new ‘Partner Plus’ that adds higher requirements feels kinda diminishing.” “Getting on Partner on Twitch (especially for creators after Covid) has always been a super long and hard process and feels great to finally get to that level,” Oli said. ![]() He described the Partner Plus program as a “low blow” to streamers who already hustled to qualify as a Partner. Many streamers with over 1,000 consistent viewers per stream still won’t have 350 monthly subs, Oli told TechCrunch in a Twitter DM. Oli, a Minecraft streamer known as highkeyhateme, has more than 176,000 followers on Twitch but is “nowhere near” the 350-sub minimum to qualify for the Partner Plus program. Gift subs and Prime subs don’t count toward the subscription minimum, but do count toward the $100,000 annual cap - another point of contention among streamers. To qualify, Partners must maintain at last 350 monthly subs for at least three consecutive months. The new Partner Plus program, which Twitch announced on Thursday, will grant qualifying streamers 70% of the first $100,000 they make annually from monthly and gift subs. Streamers widely protested the changes, which were set to go into effect this month. Partners grandfathered into the deal would still get a 70% cut of the first $100,000 they earned, and 50% of any revenue after that. Select streamers were offered a premium 70/30 split until last year, when Twitch announced plans to cut the deal in favor of the platform’s ad revenue program. Viewers can also gift each other with subs, which expire after a month. Prime Gaming, which is included with an Amazon Prime subscription, grants one sub per month. ![]() The default revenue split for Twitch Partners is 50/50 - subscriptions (subs) start at $4.99 at the lowest tier, and can be raised to $9.99 or $24.99. “I feel like Twitch has been making not very creator-minded decisions so they are grasping at straws to do any kind of improvement to make people happy.” “A lot of people are looking for reasons to be happy with Twitch after all the recent drama,” Diva, a Twitch Partner who streams under the handle Divatopia, said. But the program’s lofty requirements exclude the vast majority of Twitch Partners, and compounds the already tense relationship between Twitch and its creators. Twitch’s new Partner Plus tier, which will grant qualifying streamers a 70/30 revenue split, has been hailed as a win for the platform’s community. 7/23/2023 0 Comments Blue cockatoo paintingMetaphoric, such as “ Bathing Beauty” (a pig in mud) Keep in mind that every painting has more than one good possibility.Ībstract Visual, such as “Checkerboard Swirl”ĭescriptive, such as “ Lake Michigan Looking North” Experiment with them to see what fits your painting’s message best. I’ve developed some approaches for generating titles:Īsk yourself what you want the viewer to know, see, or feel. As is always true in art, there are no definite rules for titling a painting. ![]() Most artists probably start thinking about a title somewhere in the middle stages of a painting, as their imagery takes shape. Other artists have something clearly in mind as they create, and form titles along with that idea. I know artists who don’t think about titles until their artworks are finished and they see what their paintings evoke. Like most artists, my work is visual, not verbal. For me it’s been a challenge to come up with titles that fit my art and elicit the emotional response I want. Some artists have a knack for naming their artworks as an extension of their creative expression. Leave a little ambiguity for the viewers to solve and make their own. Don’t fully explain it, but give them a clue. They want to know what you are showing them and why. Viewers want to understand your visual narrative so they can get emotionally involved in the art experience you present to them. Some art may work best with titles that convey visual description, such as “ Study in Vermillion and Blue,” “ Painting Outside the Lines,” or “ Maple Trees After the Morning Snow.” Titles such as “ Doorway to a Dream,” “ Echoes in the Mountains,” and “ To Catch a Moonbeam,” suggest a mood rather than a clear visual description. I think of titling a painting as writing a bit of poetry, using words that convey feelings and intangible concepts. ![]() ![]() It gives the viewer insight into what you, the artist, hopes the viewer will see or feel in your work.

7/22/2023 0 Comments Lemon peeler for drinks![]() The first method is the most common, the second makes for a fancier-looking wedge. A wedge lets the drinker squeeze a little of that crisp lime or lemon flavor into their drink, customizing the level of acidity. Citrus wedges, two waysĬitrus wedges are very common garnishes in drinks like Margaritas or Gin and Tonics. Place the slice slit-side down onto the rim of the glass. To secure a slice on the edge of your glass, cut a slit into the flesh side of the slice, being careful not to cut all the way through to the peel. These garnishes are easy to sit on the rim of a glass and they don’t get in the way of sipping. Citrus slicesĪ citrus slice is incredibly simple to master once you know how to cut a wheel. Now place the wheel slit-side down onto the edge of the glass. Be careful not to cut it all the way through to the other side. To sit a citrus wheel on the rim of a glass, cut a slit from one edge of the wheel into its center. An average-sized orange will yield about 6-8 perfectly shaped wheels and a few small ones from each end that are less attractive. Now, hold each half by its end and cut them into several sections, each about ¼” thick. ![]() You’ll now have two halves, each exposing the circular, wheel-like shape of the interior of the fruit. To cut a citrus wheel, hold the fruit by one end (the base or the top) and slice straight through the middle of the fruit. Wheels add aroma from the oils in the peel and a bit of juicy flavor from the flesh of the fruit. The citrus wheel is the simplest to cut and it always looks beautiful in a glass or placed on the rim. Learn more about how flavors balance each other in my discussion of the 8 tastes! There are four primary citrus garnishes and we’ll walk through how to cut and use each. Citrus fruits add zesty, bright aromas and flavors which can enhance the overall freshness of a drink as well as increase the perception of sweetness. ![]() The most common cocktail garnishes use fresh citrus like lemons, limes, or oranges. If your knife skills are lacking or you’re accident prone, get yourself a peeler! They’re inexpensive and well worth the smooth, thin, evenly cut peels. I have gone through a ton of vegetable peelers over the years and my top choices that are good quality, sharp, and economical are the Kuhn Rikon Original Swiss Peelers and the Honsen Ultra Sharp Stainless Steel Peeler (pictured above).Ī Y-shaped vegetable peeler makes quick work of peeling citrus fruits and it’s a lot less dangerous than using a knife. Use a pair of sharp kitchen shears to quickly remove rough edges and cut the peel into a nicely defined rectangle or other shape. When making citrus peel garnishes, it can be easier to manipulate the shape of the peel when trimming it with scissors (rather than a knife).
